Die durch langsam aufgetragene Schichten aufgebauten Werke von Charlotte Acklin sind Diskurse in Bezug auf Ver\u00e4nderung, flie\u00dfendem \u00dcbergang und Dauerhaftigkeit, in dem Sinn, dass die Zeit in ihrer alles durchdringenden Endlosigkeit Br\u00fcchen unterliegt, w\u00e4hrend die gestischen Werke diese Br\u00fcche als die Ursache jeglicher Ver\u00e4nderung zeigen. Acklins Gem\u00e4lde entstehen als ontologische Reflexionen \u00fcber Geschehen, Bewegung, und wie sie sich gegenseitig beeinflussen – \u00e4hnlich wie die Ver\u00e4nderungen, die wir in unserem Leben erfahren und bei denen die meisten nicht vorhersehbar sind. Sie erinnern uns daran, dass es einen fortlaufenden Fluss in der Zeit gibt (wenn auch in unterschiedlichen Geschwindigkeiten), in dem wieder und wieder Br\u00fcche auftauchen und Gestalt annehmen.<\/p>\n
In Acklins Bildern steht nichts still, kann nichts stillstehen, ihre Aussagen sind offen, mit Blick von au\u00dfen, nachdenklich. Es sind Denkr\u00e4ume, die auch den Instinkt einschlie\u00dfen. Sie zeigen Energien auf, die neue R\u00e4ume formen \u2013 R\u00e4ume, die \u00fcber das Sagbare hinausgehen und uns daran erinnern, dass Malerei jenseits von Worten liegt. Acklins Werke basieren nicht auf tradierten Erz\u00e4hlungen, vielmehr stellen sie einen Ort dar, der vielf\u00e4ltige und flie\u00dfende Assoziationen erzeugt und Gef\u00fchle vermittelt, die \u00fcber alle Aussagen hinausreichen. Wenn wir innehalten und uns darauf einlassen, wird uns bewusst, wie die Dinge im Innern verbunden sind.<\/p>\n

The works of Charlotte Acklin built through slowly applied layers evoke discourses in relation to change, fluidity and ongoingness with the sense that in their all-pervading endlessness, time is affected by rupture, while the more animated works mediate on change as being driven by rupture. Acklin\u2019s paintings form as ontological reflections on occurrence and movement \u2013 where, while one thing is related to another in terms of causality, rather than having set associations, and similarly to the movement we experience in our lives, most things are contingent. Acklin\u2019s works remind us that what exist within is an ongoing flow in time (albeit at differing speeds) where disjuncture innately arises and forms.<\/em><\/p>\nIn Acklin\u2019s paintings nothing stands still, or can stand still, and their meanings appear to be open, decentred and speculative. Acklin considers these works as spaces for thought, that allow for instincts, and the recognition of the expression of energies forming as places that may go beyond words, reminding us of something we know \u2013 that painting is a wordless thing. Acklin\u2019s works seem to intentionally carry no predominant narrative via their imageries, but they reside within a space that mediates on multiple and fluid associations, feelings that conceivably remain beyond meaning. When we slow and engage, we become aware of what is transmitted \u2013 how one thing coincides with another.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
